About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team at Connection. As a Tax Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the success of our team by ensuring compliance with sales tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to internal and external sales tax questions regarding taxability of our various product offerings and confirm tax rates for multiple legal entities doing business in all 50 states.
  • Set up taxable items, monitor tax rates and various state tax regulations to maintain our sales tax matrix to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Assist or lead ongoing external sales and use tax audits, respond to auditor requests, and defend our tax position.
  • Research and resolve system issues pertaining to notices received from taxing jurisdictions.
  • Monitor Vertex Tax Decision Maker to confirm appropriate tax calculations.
  • Advise and mentor sales tax analysts as needed.
Requirements
  • Proficient use of Microsoft 365 tools like Teams, Teams Meeting, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of VERTEX sales tax software or comparable applications.
  • Working knowledge of a research tool such as RIA, CCH, or BNA.
  • Strong knowledge of state sales tax laws in which the company files.
  • Experience mentoring sales tax analysts.
  • Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities.
  • Superb communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
