Job Summary

As a key member of our finance team, the Payroll Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of payroll for assigned company entities. This includes uploading incentive compensation from multiple internal sources to the payroll system and producing reporting to ensure data accuracy prior to uploading RSU SEC data per vesting schedule to ensure compliance under the SEC guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll with data from time management systems for weekly and biweekly pay groups for assigned company entities, maintaining changes to and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of employee hours worked and payroll data on a timely basis, adhering to weekly deadlines.
  • Enter RSU data into the payroll system and post general ledger entries as needed.
  • Run audit reports to verify the accuracy of payroll prior to transmitting files.
  • Complete the internal payroll process control spreadsheets to balance all compensation processed for that pay period.
  • Prior to payroll processing, ensure compliance and accuracy of time records and paid time off requests and accruals in the time management system. Run interface in UTM to upload the hours into the UltiPro system. Resolve access issues with managers and employees in UTM.
  • Conduct weekly and biweekly auditing; run scheduled and ad hoc reports as needed; and reconcile various G/L and HR/Benefit accounts.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of automated payroll systems.
  • Working knowledge of various automated reporting systems that work with the payroll and timekeeping systems.
  • Understanding of common payroll practices with regard to the calculation of compensation by various pay plans and statuses.
  • Ability to understand and calculate overtime compensation for non-exempt salaried and hourly employees and the FLSA calculation methodology.
  • General knowledge of taxation with regard to answering tax withholding inquiries.
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with all levels of the organization and within teams.
  • CPP or similar payroll certification is preferred.
