Position Overview:


Are you prepared to be an integral part of a streamlined Medical Device organization? Join our team as a CNC Equipment Maintenance Specialist.

In this role, you will be vital in ensuring the optimal functionality and dependability of our CNC machinery utilized in the production of medical devices.

You will be tasked with the upkeep, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC equipment to minimize downtime and enhance efficiency. This position demands a solid technical foundation, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive maintenance approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting Routine Maintenance:
Carry out routine maintenance activities on CNC machines, which include cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of mechanical components.

Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Problems:
Identify and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues to determine the root causes of equipment failures.

Parts and Inventory Oversight:
Manage department parts and inventory stock for preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment to reduce downtime.

Adhering to Maintenance Schedules:

Follow planned maintenance schedules to ensure timely servicing of machinery and equipment, thereby minimizing the risk of unexpected downtime.


Documenting Maintenance Activities:
Record maintenance activities, including repairs, parts replacements, and preventive maintenance tasks, in line with company protocols.

Within Your First 30 Days:
Complete orientation and training on company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Familiarize yourself with the CNC machines and production processes utilized in our facility.

Shadow experienced technicians to gain practical experience in CNC maintenance and repair.

Begin executing routine maintenance tasks under supervision and guidance.

Build relationships with team members and key stakeholders in production and engineering departments.

Within 60 Days:
Exhibit proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting common CNC equipment issues independently.

Implement preventive maintenance procedures according to the maintenance schedule.

Accurately document maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Identify opportunities for enhancing machine performance or maintenance processes.

Assist in executing improvements or modifications to CNC equipment in collaboration with engineering teams.

Within 90 Days to One Year:
Take charge of CNC maintenance activities and contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment reliability.

Proactively identify and resolve potential maintenance issues before they escalate.

Train and mentor junior technicians or new hires in CNC maintenance techniques and best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives in machine performance, efficiency, and safety.


Maintain a high level of expertise and stay informed about new technologies or advancements in CNC machining and maintenance practices.


Position Requirements:
Completion of high school education or equivalent.

A minimum of two years' experience in troubleshooting and repairing CNC mills, lathes, and other manufacturing equipment.


Familiarity with repairing Wire and Sinker Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Makino, Deckel Maho Gildemeister (DMG), Laser, and Swiss screw machines.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and basic computer skills.

Understanding machine alarm codes and utilizing machine diagnostics for troubleshooting.

Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of technical or vocational school and obtaining a certificate.

Knowledge and experience with test equipment and meters, such as Digital Multimeters (DMM's), Amp Probes, Meggers, and Oscilloscope.

Skilled in troubleshooting Nitrogen and Oxygen generators and compressors.

Experienced in troubleshooting and repairing Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM), Laser, and Swiss screw equipment.

Knowledge in Fanuc, Okuma, and Siemens controls.

A reliable team member with the willingness and drive to succeed within the team.
