About the Role

Gable Search Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal Research and Development (R&D) Engineer to lead our wireless technology projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing and participating in the capture, planning, design, prototyping, and verification of wireless technology projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical management of R&D projects and programs, including overall system design and requirement specification.
  • Setting and tracking development schedules and tasks, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Overseeing paper design, simulation, software, FPGA, and testing efforts, ensuring high-quality results.
  • Customer-facing engagement and technical material preparation, including whitepapers and proposals.
  • Reporting to management as required for strategic planning and assessment, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Participating in R&D business development and capture efforts, including whitepaper and proposal preparation.
  • Communicating with government and industry stakeholders, representing the company's interests.
  • Working collaboratively within the senior R&D team on larger, team-wide projects, setting a comprehensive technology portfolio and pipeline.
Qualifications and Experience
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a relevant technology field, such as wireless communications, signal processing, statistics, optimization, networking, or RF design.
  • 10 years of experience in the design and development of wireless systems, with a strong understanding of wireless technology.
  • 5 years of experience in technical project leadership, including principal investigator roles.
  • Participation in the complete technology development cycle, from design to field testing.
Areas of Skill
  • Simulation and prototyping software, including C/C++, MATLAB, and Python.
  • RF propagation, channel modeling, digital communication, and wireless ad-hoc mesh networking.
  • Signal processing algorithms, MIMO, OFDM, beam-nulling, and cognitive radio congested and contested spectrum.
  • RF sensing, signal detection, and classification, as well as technical writing and proposal preparation.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. person or U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • Employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check.
Travel Requirements

Infrequent travel to support customer interactions or test and demonstration events.
