Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design, test, and architect mmWave circuits for RF front-end blocks and products, including LNAs, PAs, VGAs, phase shifters, inductors, transformers, and transmission lines.
  • System-Level Modeling: Conduct system-level modeling of phased arrays, including custom chips and antennas, to determine impact of non-idealities on system-level metrics.
  • EM Simulation and Modeling: Perform EM simulation and modeling of circuits, chip packages, PCBs, and antennas to ensure optimal performance.
  • Testing and Validation: Perform RF bench-top and over-the-air testing to validate the performance of our mmWave front-end beamformer chips.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate with the founder and lead a growing team of engineers and contractors as needed to drive innovation and excellence.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in mmWave front-end circuit architecture and design, including key blocks like LNAs, PAs, VGAs, phase shifters, inductors, transformers, and transmission lines.
  • Education: Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or significant industry experience to demonstrate a track record of excellence.
  • Skills: Proficiency in mmWave EDA tools and key design flows, experience in mmWave/RF testing for receivers, transmitters, transceivers, and front-end RF circuits using industry-standard equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong Background: Strong background in transmit circuit design, especially high-frequency PA circuit techniques, and spatially selective multi-antenna wireless systems.
  • Theoretical Expertise: Theoretical expertise in modeling of multi-antenna signal chains to determine impact of non-idealities on system-level metrics.
  • RF Technology: Familiarity with relevant RF technology nodes, such as RF CMOS, SOI, and SiGe.
  • Tapeouts: Past experience with tapeouts, especially with DFM, reliability, and costing considerations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to present work, decision-making process, and document work.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex engineering conversations to achieve the best result in a collaborative environment.
