Maintenance Equipment Technician

The Maintenance Mechanic is a critical role at Vital Health America LLC, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production equipment and facilities. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including setup, changeovers, and preventative maintenance.
- Conduct lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of equipment, including tooling and machinery.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics, and have a basic understanding of electrical circuits and PLCs.
- Maintain personal hygiene practices to ensure cGMP compliance, and follow safety regulations at all times.
- Ensure that all work is properly documented and recorded, and that all equipment is properly maintained and secured.
- Work with production and packaging departments to ensure that maintenance is properly scheduled and that all equipment is functioning properly.
- Participate in monthly sanitation audits with QA personnel, and attend all cGMP training classes.
- High school graduate preferred, but not required if proficiency in communication, mathematics, work habits, and attitude is demonstrated during the probationary period.
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience in a solid, full-scale manufacturing environment, with experience working in the vitamin or food manufacturing industry required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted, or up to 100 pounds with mechanical assistance, and to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for periods of five hours or more.
- Knowledge of cGMP standards, and ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance work instructions, procedure manuals, and SDS sheets.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and to solve moderately complex problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
- Deliberate and acute sense of documentation of all activities while in the manufacturing environment, and ability to communicate via email, verbally, and in writing.
