Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at Matheson Tri-Gas. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our laboratory, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of laboratory personnel, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve laboratory productivity and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular inspections of laboratory equipment and facilities to ensure that they are in good working order.
  • Provide technical support to customers, both in-house and at customer sites, as required.
  • Develop and maintain analytical procedures and methods to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Review customer orders to ensure feasibility and safety of custom gas mixtures.
  • Participate in corrective action on the material review board as required by Matheson's quality management system.
  • Generate COA's and statistical reports for customers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory management role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and protocols.
  • Experience with analytical procedures and methods.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience with quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to laboratory operations.
