We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Development Associate to join our Development Department. Reporting directly to the Development Operations Manager, this role is essential in providing administrative assistance and fostering relationships that contribute to a successful fundraising program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support for the Development Department

  • Enhance and document processes to improve the efficiency of the Development team.
  • Work alongside Artistic staff to coordinate donor visits and deliver high-level benefits to key supporters.
  • Maintain precise donor listings for various publications, including theater programs and the website.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Chief Development Officer, including scheduling meetings and managing booking needs.
  • Act as a liaison to the Boston Ballet Volunteer Association (BBVA).
  • Prepare stewardship reports and draft correspondence as needed.

Support for Major Gifts and Visionaries' Circle

  • Assist the Director of Major Gifts with administrative tasks, including calendar management and donor communications.
  • Help manage special projects and stewardship initiatives for the EVW Visionaries' Circle.
  • Update the fundraising database with relevant donor information and notes.

Support for Special Events

  • Manage event invitation lists and RSVP data in our systems.
  • Conduct research on attendees for significant events.
  • Assist with event execution throughout the season, serving as a staff representative as needed.
  • Represent Boston Ballet during performances, staffing the VIP Lounge for select productions.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of one year in an administrative, customer service, or development-related role.
  • A proactive approach with a strong willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, achieving common goals.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in creating impactful presentations.
  • Understanding of fundraising principles and customer service best practices.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Willingness to work in the office at least two days per week and availability for weekend and evening hours during performance seasons.
