Job Summary:

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Specialist IV - Skilled Acquisition Plan Writer to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and holistic Individual Support Plans that integrate all areas of an individual's life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement ABA skill acquisition training objectives that promote positive interactions and effective active treatment programs.
  • Provide hands-on coaching, teaching, and mentoring to staff on integrating active treatment programs and effective positive interactions.
  • Organize community integration components to ensure every individual participates in non-routine community activities and community skill acquisition planning.
  • Participate in Individual Support Plans, Preps, home meetings, and other IDT meetings to ensure comprehensive care coordination.
  • Develop and implement data systems to identify active treatment needs and trends, synthesizing data into reports for distribution to appropriate departments.
  • Plan, schedule, and provide services to homes in the delivery of evening, weekend, holiday, and mealtime active treatment.
  • Supervise assigned staff to ensure effective delivery of needed services.
  • Participate in special project teams and committees to drive business outcomes.
  • Complete and/or evaluate assessments on individuals, such as the Functional Skills Assessments and assessments in all other disciplines.
Requirements:
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships with residents and coworkers based on dignity and respect.
  • History of establishing positive, cooperative working relationships with individuals and coworkers.
  • Ability to provide effective staff training and communicate information effectively.
  • Effective organization skills and ability to develop and implement advanced active treatment programs.
  • Knowledge of Sex Offender Treatment Programs and ability to perform therapeutic interventions with people with dual diagnosis.
  • Ability to effectively utilize applicable computer programs and email.
  • Ability to attend work regularly and punctually as scheduled.
  • Ability to understand and abide by all policies and procedures applicable to job duties.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all policies and procedures related to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and SUR.
  • Ability to follow facility shelter-in-place and hurricane evacuation policies and procedures.
Working Conditions:

This position requires flexibility in work hours, including overtime and extended hours, and may require on-call duties after hours.
