We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Worker I to join our team at the University of Georgia. As a key member of our Facilities Management Division, you will play a critical role in supporting the construction and maintenance of our campus landscapes, buildings, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Assist skilled tradesmen in day-to-day construction activities, including forming and placing concrete, potholing utilities, and performing traffic control measures.
- Operate small machinery, such as compressors, jackhammers, compactors, saws, and hand tools, as needed.
- Perform manual labor as needed to support construction activities, including lifting up to 75 pounds and working in adverse weather conditions.
- Respond to grounds emergencies as they arise to maintain the safety of the campus community.
- Technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training.
- Ability to perform manual labor as needed and operate small machinery.
- Knowledge of basic construction practices and techniques, including job site safety.
