Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance and benefits consulting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results to clients. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Client Management
    • Lead strategic consultation and planning efforts for client benefit programs
    • Ensure programs and plan design are in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirements
    • Utilize intermediate knowledge of actuarial concepts and underwriting practices to analyze claims data and provide applied explanation to the client and internal team
    • Direct the service team's work assignments related to project management, claims escalation and resolution, and plan analysis/reporting
  • Carrier and Vendor Relationships
    • Develop strong carrier and vendor relationships to support and lead negotiation and advocacy during client coverage placement and renewal process, utilizing department peers and/or leadership as necessary
    • Coordinate with internal subject matter experts and practice leaders to bring current and emerging markets and products and bring solutions to the table that are aligned with clients stated goals through a commitment to continuous learning
  • Production Partnership
    • Participate in finalist and/or prospect meetings in partnership with production staff as appropriate
    • Participate in the development of prospect requests for proposals (RFPs), providing personnel responses and other information as requested
    • Partner with production staff to ensure compensation received is properly executed
  • Internal Resource
    • Availability to serve as a resource for other agency benefits staff throughout the entire benefits division
    • Strong commitment to participation in department or agency-wide committees and special projects
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of similar or related broker experience required
  • Demonstrates above average business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequences
  • Demonstrates positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaboration
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develop strategies for improvements in organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrates advanced skills with MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrates strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutions
  • Attains and maintains Life and Health licensure
  • 4-year degree in business or related discipline preferred
