Hardware Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer to join our team at Jobot. As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge hardware systems for our IoT network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop embedded board-level hardware systems, including micro-controllers, SoCs, power management, sensors, and I/O devices.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to bring up, tune, debug, and test hardware systems using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, VNAs, Spectrum Analyzer, and Signal Generators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware systems with software and network protocols.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and specifications for hardware systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in hardware design and development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with PCB schematic and layout tools (Altium experience highly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of digital or mixed-signal design principles, including designs using processors, FPGAs, operational amplifiers, and filters.
  • Hands-on experience with bring-up, tuning, debugging, and testing using test equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new technologies, network protocols, and tools rapidly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Embedded C, C++ familiarity and development experience with ARM microcontrollers or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with drivers for various communication protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C, and UART) and system-level integration.
  • Experience with wireless IoT network protocols (BLE, Zigbee, etc.).
  • Experience with solar cells, battery charging circuits.
