Mechanical Engineering Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Professor of Mechanical Engineering to join our faculty at the University of Alabama. The successful candidate will have a strong research background and a proven track record of teaching and mentoring students.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach courses in mechanical engineering at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Conduct research in mechanical engineering and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals.
- Mentor and advise students in their research and academic pursuits.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities.
- Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated record of research and teaching experience in mechanical engineering.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- 5+ years of experience as a tenure-track/tenured faculty member at a leading peer R1 institution.
- Record of building and sustaining a high-quality, productive, and impactful research program.
- Excellent teaching and mentoring skills.
- Strong record of external grant funding.
