Tufts Medical Center seeks a skilled Surgical Technician III to join our team in the Operating Room. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for providing essential medical and clinical support during procedures, ensuring patient safety and efficiency.

Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual who can set up daily procedure rooms, prepare surgical equipment, and maintain a sterile environment. Your advanced knowledge of aseptic technique and infection prevention practices will be essential in ensuring optimal patient care.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, able to effectively interact with staff, patients, physicians, vendors, and other departments within the hospital. You will work under moderate supervision, demonstrating specialized knowledge and skills gained through a combination of vocational education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Operating Room team with specific routine clinical activities
  • Setting up daily procedure rooms with established surgical protocols and physician preferences
  • Preparing surgical equipment and instruments for specific procedures
  • Circulating throughout the unit to assist nurses and physicians as needed
  • Escorting patients into the procedure rooms and obtaining baseline vital signs

You will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, standing under hot surgical lights for prolonged periods, and lifting patients and heavy equipment. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including a $55,000 - $65,000 annual salary, based on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Two (2) years of operating room experience

Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree in a Surgical Technologist program and three (3) years of same day, orthopedic, endoscopy, LASIK, or other relevant surgical experience.
