The Cytology Applications team plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service quality through comprehensive product education, ongoing support, and valuable technical knowledge. We are excited to seek a proficient and experienced Cytology Applications Specialist to enhance our Diagnostics division. Candidates should be open to travel extensively, as this role requires up to 90% travel.

  • Utilize your cytologic expertise in both gynecological and non-gynecological cytology to organize and deliver training on Hologic Cytology products and ThinPrep morphology for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure the highest quality of service by providing in-depth product knowledge and education, while consistently supporting clients as a technical authority in the field.
  • Work autonomously and travel frequently to represent Hologic within the industry and marketplace, exercising discretion and judgment in evaluating and training customers based on their unique needs.
  • Maintain a growth-oriented mindset and high engagement levels to meet objectives aligned with a performance-driven culture, holding yourself accountable to exceptional performance standards.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  • Understanding the operations of cytology laboratories.
  • Maintaining proficiency in TPPT and TP Non-Gyn screening and interpretive skills, along with specimen processing protocols to meet departmental standards.
  • Keeping abreast of Hologic Diagnostic Division products related to Cervical Cancer Screening.
  • Gaining knowledge of the operation and maintenance of ThinPrep Processors.
  • Understanding clinical data and benefits associated with ThinPrep Pap Test and related products.
  • Conducting training and review sessions for cytology personnel on ThinPrep products and specimen processing.
  • Facilitating morphology training and certification for ThinPrep Pap Test and related products.
  • Providing support during the sales process and implementation of the ThinPrep Imaging System, including training and troubleshooting.
  • Assisting during the sales process and conducting laboratory training on the Cellient Processor.
  • Collecting laboratory test and usage data, including gyn, non-gyn, and HPV statistics.
  • Collaborating with Scientific Affairs to identify laboratories for abstract publication in support of Hologic products.
  • Supporting Hologic-sponsored workshops and contributing to the development of workshops for product lines.
  • Assisting in sales of TPPT and Imaging in physician offices through collaboration with Diagnostics Sales Specialists.
  • Providing support to the regional Cytology community regarding Hologic's ThinPrep product line.
  • Working with Technical Service and Cytology Support to develop strategies for timely resolution of customer issues.
  • Completing Digital Cytology cases promptly to support product development and enhance morphologic skills.
  • Maintaining administrative standards and fiscal responsibility, including timely submission of expense reports and field reports.
  • Conducting in-house training for colleagues to enhance knowledge of Hologic products.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Cytotechnologist, or 1 year with a master's degree in gyn and non-gyn cytology.
  • CT (ASCP) certification is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and make independent decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Professional demeanor suitable for the healthcare industry.
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record, along with access to a serviceable vehicle.
  • Current knowledge to address technical inquiries from customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve customer situations promptly.
  • Familiarity with anatomical pathology and cytology laboratory practices.
  • Effective teaching and presentation skills.
  • Ability to organize and convey complex issues across functions.

The annualized base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $110,000, with eligibility for bonuses. Final compensation will depend on various factors, including experience, skills, education, and market demand.
