  • Oversee the recruitment and enrollment of eligible children, ensuring a diverse representation including children with disabilities.
  • Conduct informative tours of the center for prospective parents and community partners.
  • Foster positive, professional relationships with staff, community members, and funding organizations.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with children and families, utilizing a strength-based, culturally sensitive approach.
  • Ensure classroom teams cultivate an environment conducive to social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development.
  • Assist in lesson planning and review educational plans regularly.
  • Ensure timely completion of developmental screenings and assessments.
  • Monitor ongoing assessments and provide constructive feedback to enhance child outcomes.
  • Support teachers in implementing individualized education plans and adapting instruction for all learners.
  • Oversee initiatives for serving children with disabilities, including documentation and referrals.
  • Ensure consistent application of the Reggio Emilia philosophy and effective use of educational studios.
  • Maintain educational records for children in designated classrooms.
  • Uphold a program that meets national accreditation standards.
  • Assist in the supervision and training of staff as directed.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for staff as required.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of qualified personnel.
  • Support staff in achieving professional development goals.
  • Ensure continuity of care in infant and toddler classrooms.
  • Assist in organizing parent meetings and family engagement events.
  • Participate in family meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Site Director on planning special events and field trips.
  • Prepare reports as requested.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean center environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in early childhood education.
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Experience in supervision or management.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Advocate for children and families.
  • Familiarity with Head Start, Creative Curriculum, Reggio Emilia approach, CLASS, and Teaching Strategies GOLD is preferred.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education, early special education, or child development from birth to age 6, along with relevant credentials.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in reading and writing English, with the ability to operate word-processing systems effectively.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, and reaching.
