Job Title: Board Certified Behavioral Analyst
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Board Certified Behavioral Analyst to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing behavior-analytic services and implementing behavioral interventions to support students with special needs.
Responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the school setting.
* Exhibit positive human relations skills and communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and community groups.
* Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication, and maintain accurate records and reports.
* Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
* Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership.
* Assess referred students through appropriate testing and diagnostic practices, and assist in the identification of students requiring assistance from the BCBA.
* Provide data for the tracking system for special education, and confer with teachers and parents/guardians.
* Interpret behavioral interventions to students, teachers, parents/guardians, and administrators, and comply with other directives/requests from the Special Education Director.
Requirements:
* S. Degree and Certification in advanced behavioral analysis and a passing score on the BCBA exam.
* Computer proficiency and ability to communicate orally and in writing.
* Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education.
Physical Requirements:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as frequently as needed to move objects.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system's approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
