Position Summary

We are expanding our Radiation Oncology team and seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This position involves working four 10-hour shifts each week. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the assessment and management of patient care.
  • Accurately document care provided in patient medical records, including conducting interviews to gather patient histories, psychosocial backgrounds, health statuses, and identifying medical issues.
  • Under physician supervision, carry out physical assessments and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, such as applying and removing casts, suturing wounds, and changing dressings.
  • Collaborate with physicians to identify medical concerns, formulate care strategies, and prescribe treatments.
  • Order, schedule, and/or conduct laboratory tests and diagnostic evaluations, including urinalyses, pregnancy tests, blood tests, and x-rays.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing, with certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Appropriate licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • At least one year of direct experience in high-acuity clinical specialties may be required.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory; ACLS certification may be necessary in certain areas.
