Position Overview

Emory Healthcare is in search of a skilled and enthusiastic Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to become a vital member of Dr. Shervin Oskouei's Orthopedic Oncology team. Dr. Oskouei is at the forefront of healthcare innovation and research. By joining Emory Healthcare, you will contribute to a compassionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to Orthopedic Oncology patients.

In this position, the ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in Orthopedic Oncology as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Nurse Practitioner applicants must hold Acute Care certification (ACNP or AGACNP).

The Orthopedic Oncology APP role encompasses a blend of outpatient consultations and independent clinic responsibilities at our MSK Institute, along with one day of assisting in the operating room at one of our affiliated hospitals.

This role is structured as a weekday position, with no requirements for on-call duties, overnight shifts, or weekend work.

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the assessment and management of patient care.
  • Accurately document care delivery in patient medical records.
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews and record medical and psychosocial histories, health status, and potential health issues.
  • Under physician supervision, perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, including cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
  • Collaborate with physicians to diagnose medical conditions, formulate care plans, and prescribe treatments.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Appropriate licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • At least one year of direct experience in high-acuity clinical specialties may be required.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory; ACLS certification may be necessary in certain areas.
