Position Overview

Emory Healthcare is in search of a skilled and passionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to become a vital member of Dr. Shervin Oskouei's Orthopedic Oncology team. This role is pivotal in advancing healthcare and research within the field. Join us in delivering exceptional care to our Orthopedic Oncology patients with a focus on innovation and compassion.

As an ideal candidate, you should possess a minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in Orthopedic Oncology as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Nurse Practitioner applicants must hold Acute Care certification (ACNP or AGACNP).

The responsibilities of the Orthopedic Oncology APP encompass a blend of outpatient consultations and independent clinic work, along with one day dedicated to first-assist duties in the operating room at one of our affiliated hospital locations.

This is a weekday role that does not require on-call duties, overnight shifts, or weekend work.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the assessment and management of patient care.
  • Accurately document care delivery in medical records.
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews and record comprehensive medical histories, including psychosocial factors and health status.
  • Under physician supervision, perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, such as cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
  • Assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions, formulating care plans, and prescribing appropriate treatments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Must be licensed appropriately in Georgia.
  • A minimum of one year of direct experience in high-acuity clinical specialties may be required.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory; ACLS certification may be required in certain areas.
