The Position
We're seeking a highly qualified Evaluation Consultant to join our team. As a consultant, you will conduct evaluations and assessments of democracy, rights, and governance activities for USAID, working on regional or country-specific projects. Your expertise will be invaluable in generating a technical evidence base and informing decision-making about DRG foreign assistance.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Principal Investigator (PI), Evaluation Team Lead, or a Senior Evaluation Specialist on USAID evaluations.
- Design, develop, and lead analysis, evaluation methods, and approaches.
- Lead data collection and fieldwork activities; oversee team members and adhere to design standards, protocols, and quality standards.
- Author draft and final reports, presenting findings to USAID and stakeholders as necessary.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. and 10 years of minimum relevant technical experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (i.e., minimum 14 years plus Master's degree).
- Advanced degree in democracy, rights, and governance or a related field.
- Recent experience conducting evaluations of USAID programming, bringing an understanding of USAID as a client.
- Prior experience serving as PI or Evaluation Team Lead and/or serving as an evaluation team member on similar international development programs.
- Technical expertise in research and evaluation methodologies, including experience designing and leading evaluations in the international development sector.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate highly technical research for a practitioner audience.
Salary and Benefits
This is a competitive position offering a salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additional benefits include comprehensive healthcare insurance and other staff welfare perks.
