CareWell Urgent Care is looking for a reliable full-time Medical Assistant or EMT-Basic to join our advanced urgent care facility.

Full-time roles require availability for three 12-hour shifts weekly, including alternating weekends.

Under the guidance of the clinical provider, the responsibilities of the Medical Assistant may encompass:

  • Recording and monitoring vital signs and medical histories.
  • Preparing patients for examinations.
  • Performing IV/Blood draws and ECGs.
  • Conducting office diagnostic tests and x-ray preparations.
  • Assisting with splinting, wound care, and medication administration as directed by the physician.

Medical Responsibilities:

  • Set up examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
  • Apply splints and dressings, ensuring supplies and equipment are prepared and sterilized for treatments.
  • Assist physicians in minor surgeries and physical examinations.
  • Handle phlebotomy and related laboratory documentation.
  • Provide necessary information and assistance to patients.

Clerical Duties:

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for staff and insurance providers.
  • Maintain patient records for clinical, billing, and physician review purposes.
  • Document patient files and forms as required.
  • Screen phone calls for physician referrals.
  • Keep clinical and office supplies organized and well-stocked.

Proven interpersonal skills are essential for effectively interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff. A solid understanding of basic medical terminology and organizational policies is required to provide optimal patient care. The ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service is crucial.

Work Environment:

This position operates within a medical office setting, with potential exposure to communicable diseases and other clinic-related conditions.

Position Type: This is an hourly, non-exempt role with flexible hours based on part-time or full-time status.
