Job Summary

As a Licensed Practical Nurse at Geisinger Health System, you will play a vital role in providing primary clinical support to our providers and patients. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the continuity and quality of care for our patients.

In this dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our healthcare team to promote a clean and safe environment. You will also have the chance to assist our providers in performing minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations.

Your responsibilities will include obtaining and documenting patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and providing basic medical data for our providers. You will also be responsible for preparing patients for examinations and administering medications and vaccines under the direction of our providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtains and documents patient medical history, chief complaint, vital signs, and provides basic medical data base for provider, and prepares patient for examinations.
  • Provides direct clinical care as directed by provider.
  • Assists provider in performance of minor surgical diagnostic procedures and ancillary diagnostic examinations as directed by provider to facilitate accurate diagnosis.
  • Cleans and sets up examination and treatment rooms between cases, ensures required levels of asepsis, availability of appropriate instruments and equipment, and preparation of patient.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $80,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a graduate degree from a Specialty Training Program-Nursing and be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse. A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is preferred.
