Public Safety Office Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Public Safety Office Clerk to provide administrative support to our Public Safety Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for answering phones, attending to visitors, and managing the department's database.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support, including answering phones and attending to visitors
- Receive and transcribe incident reports
- Manage the Public Safety Department database
- Review nightly police detail logs and assign costs for service
- Coordinate the transmittal of incident reports
- Assist in the preparation of eviction cases
- Assist in the preparation of grant applications and reports to grantors
- Assist in the preparation of various reports
- Support the development, scheduling, and delivery of Public Safety Department outreach and education events
- High school diploma required; Associates Degree preferred in criminal justice or a related field
- One year of office experience required
- Familiarity with law enforcement agencies and protocols for obtaining reports and records
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with database management
- Strong organizational, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond professionally and courteously in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable work habits
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Bilingual candidates preferred
Please note that this is a part-time position, 19 hours per week, with no benefits. The hourly rate is $20.24. The position will remain open until filled.
