Sterile Processing Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists. As a key member of our patient care team, you will be responsible for maintaining all surgical packs and sterilization equipment, including the autoclave, gas sterilizer, and ultrasonic cleaner. Your attention to detail and ability to work efficiently will ensure that our surgical team has the necessary equipment to provide exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all surgical packs and sterilization equipment, including the autoclave, gas sterilizer, and ultrasonic cleaner
- Assist the surgical team in preparing for procedures, including selecting appropriate packs, instruments, and materials
- Perform routine maintenance on sterilization equipment and communicate with the Facility Manager and Purchaser as needed
- Restock drawers, shelves, and product in prep and surgery suites
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the surgery suite, prep area, and radiology
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a sterile processing technician
- Graduate from an accredited sterile processing technician program and CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with the surgical team
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassion for pets and people, understanding and respect for others' choices
