About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Landscape Specialist - Zone Environmentalist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical and skilled tasks to maintain safe, functional, and attractive grounds and landscaping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of landscaping tasks, including mowing, trimming, pruning, edging, and mulching.
  • Apply and monitor herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers.
  • Lead the work of assigned wage and summer employees.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including tractors, trucks, backpack blowers, and hand tools.

Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of plants, shrubs, flowers, turf maintenance, and general landscaping practices and procedures.
  • Ability to operate a range of equipment and tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
  • Pesticide Registered Technician's License required within one year of hire.
