Job Summary

The General Ledger Accounting Specialist will play a critical role in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes within the General Ledger team. This position is responsible for journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliation, and daily support of treasury functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycle
  • Prepare and review journal entries
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze monthly fluctuations
  • Support software testing and training for financial systems, record retention software, and reconciliation systems
  • Focus on ongoing process improvement and support initiatives to enhance efficiency
  • Collaborate with the General Ledger team to achieve goals
  • Provide ad hoc project support as needed
Requirements
  • Must live within a 3-hour driving distance from one of Vail Resorts' U.S. resorts and within a state where Vail Resorts operates
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field (preferred)
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-starter with a drive for excellence and ability to build strong working relationships
