As an entry-level manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the facility, including scheduling, managing, and coordinating husbandry and research activities. Your leadership role will involve managing animal caretaker and facility support staff, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for all animals and employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage animal care and husbandry activities in accordance with USDA, FDA, and AAALAC regulations
  • Oversee the care and well-being of animals used in research and testing
  • Lead a team of animal caretakers and facility support staff
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with researchers, site leaders, and veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Host inspections and provide updates to regulatory agencies
  • Write and review SOPs, OJTs, and other operational documents
  • Participate in on-call duty, including weekends and holidays
Requirements
  • BS degree or equivalent experience in a science field
  • Two to four years' experience in personnel management
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Experience working with infectious diseases
  • Experience working in laboratory animal facilities
