Job Purpose:
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor - Weld & Grind oversees the Weld & Grind departments, providing leadership and collaboration with the multi-shift Supervisory team. This role ensures safe and productive processes are in place, focusing on teammate development to meet the quality standards of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trains and enforces policies regarding safety requirements
- Participates in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and/or Safety Committee
- Develops and implements Standard Work for safety
- Trains and enforces all company policies
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving problems
- Primary trainer of Level 4 Board
- Develops and implements Standard Work for process methods
- Trains and enforces policies regarding Quality Standards
- Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines
- Develops and implements Standard Work for quality of product
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials
- Consults with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments
- Coordinates and communicates work schedules with all departments to ensure optimum schedule adherence
- 2 to 5 years Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2 to 5 years experience in welding and/or grinding
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Capable of deciphering specifications, drawings, blueprints, and job orders
- Microsoft Word and Excel experience preferred
- Able to work with time constraints and meet deadlines
