Workforce Capital Staffing is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager for Berry Global in Washington, Georgia.

This role will be the primary financial representative at the site, collaborating with all levels of the plant workforce, including leadership and shop floor personnel. You'll also interact with corporate accounting teams, other plant accounting staff, marketing, and operations management.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust controls for purchasing, receiving, issuance, and shipping to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Collaborate with Materials and Production Departments to establish and maintain effective internal controls for inventory accuracy. Conduct regular audits of these departments to verify compliance with established procedures.
  • Review Bill of Materials for accuracy and update standard costs for manufactured items as needed.
  • Maintain records of production trail activity and prepare journal entries to allocate production costs to marketing and sales.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to account for over/under absorbed labor and overhead, along with other miscellaneous entries.
  • Review monthly plant overhead expenses and reclassify them as necessary.
  • Compile estimates of material efficiencies from production data and prepare film cost estimates for weekly forecasting.
  • Review Uninvoiced Receipts and Accrual Reconciliation Reports, making corrections to clear aged items or determining when an aged item should be written off.
  • Work with the Materials Manager to ensure all locations are accurately counted during quarterly cycle counts.
  • Prepare site weekly forecasts, providing Standard to Actual, MUV, and PPV estimates.
  • Develop site annual budgets, establishing standard costs and variable/fixed overhead budgets.
  • Conduct special cost analyses as requested for new and existing products.
  • Provide support to marketing by conducting cost studies for new and updated products.
  • Present financial results to various levels within the organization.
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in a manufacturing environment within an accounting capacity.

Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and database applications (e.g., JDE) is essential. A solid understanding of manufacturing cost accounting and exposure to ERP systems are highly beneficial. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills are crucial for success in this position.
