Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Process Technology Engineer to join our team at BASF Corporation. As a key member of our Petrochemicals Acrylic Monomers team, you will be responsible for contributing to the long-term economic success of our plants via automation, process optimization, process safety, capital projects, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a broad range of teams, including operations, R&D, site services, EHS, process controls, and engineering to accomplish business goals.
  • Provide process and design input through project scope, justification, timing, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Own, complete, and document Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews and revalidation.
  • Ensure compliance to safety standards as part of the sustainable EHS plan.
  • Provide process safety management (PSM), risk management plan (RMP), and responsible care (RC) audit support related to process safety.
  • Support the implementation of best safety practices.
  • Provide technology expertise for the acrylic monomers as you will be the focal point for further development and optimization of processes in the plant, which includes leading plant trials.
  • Provide periodic technical training on process technology for various team members and provide troubleshooting support as needed.
  • Collaborate with process control personnel to develop and implement automation solutions to minimize variable cost and improve the overall effectiveness of our production technology.
Requirements
  • Hold a bachelor's or advanced degree in chemical engineering or related engineering disciplines.
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of chemical/petrochemical/refining manufacturing experience.
  • Possess previous experience with capital project development and execution, and a strong understanding of process engineering concepts and their applications.
  • Have practical experience in process control, field equipment, DCS/PLC Control Systems, and advanced control systems.
