Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I operates imaging equipment to make images of designated portions of the body as ordered by the physician. This role requires the ability to position and instruct patients for radiological or fluoroscopic examinations, adjust imaging equipment, and determine the proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time for each image.

Responsibilities
  • Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality images of patients
  • Position and instruct patients for radiological or fluoroscopic examinations
  • Adjust imaging equipment to ensure proper settings
  • Determine the proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time for each image
  • Prepare patients for x-ray by administering contrast IV and non-IV
  • Focus on infant, children, and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed
  • Address family and patient concerns to facilitate a Family Centered Care approach
Requirements
  • Newly graduated from an accredited Radiography Program with less than six (6) months clinical experience
  • One (1) year of acute care technologist experience in a pediatric inpatient hospital (preferred)
  • Graduate from an approved education program in Radiography/Radiologic Technology
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone
  • Think critically, manage multiple assignments effectively, organize and prioritize workload, work well under pressure, problem solve, recall information with accuracy, and pay close attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
  • Amer Reg Rad Tech - Radiography (ARRT-R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Radiologic Tech - CA
  • Certified Radiologic Tech Fluoroscopy - CA
  • Venipuncture Certificate
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The physical demands of this role include lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. The work environment may be subject to extreme temperatures, radiation, and uneven surfaces or elevations.
