General Overview:

In this role, you will work under minimal supervision to support technicians in identifying the appropriate part numbers, sourcing parts, managing inventory, and ensuring exceptional service to both internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in selecting the correct parts for their vehicles.
  • Manage the receipt and organization of parts shipments.
  • Ensure accurate entry of parts into inventory systems.
  • Maintain an orderly and precise parts inventory, conducting regular cycle counts.
  • Oversee service supply management to reduce waste.
  • Utilize the AutoMation system for parts allocation.
  • Handle the return of incorrect or defective parts to suppliers.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service consistently.
  • Complete tasks as directed by supervisory staff.

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Accountability to the Associate 1 Competency Model.
  • Completion of Supply Associate Workstation Certifications.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and accurately document data.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, including knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
  • Flexibility to perform various tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Understanding of numeric filing systems.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with customers and associates, both in person and via phone.
  • Completion of CarMax training programs, including new associate operations and parts processing training.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily indoor setting, with potential exposure to noisy or adverse weather conditions.
  • Requires prolonged periods of standing or walking.
  • Must wear company-provided attire while on duty.
  • Compliance with all CarMax, OSHA, and EPA standards, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Adherence to company policies regarding attendance, asset protection, integrity, and professional appearance.
