Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with an external bookkeeping service to finalize quarterly accounting packages and annual financial statements for all Private Funds, ensuring precision, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Work alongside the Operations Team to guarantee accurate reporting of each Fund's financial data on internal portfolio accounting software systems.
  • Prepare and oversee annual budgets for the Private Investment Team, coordinating with the firm's Controller to ensure these budgets are accurately reflected in the firm's financial statements.
  • Assist the external bookkeeper in preparing and distributing tax estimates and K-1 forms for the Private Funds.
  • Coordinate with a third-party administrator to provide auditors with the necessary information to assess the annual financial reports and accounting practices of each Private Fund.
  • Report the financial outcomes of each Fund to various stakeholders and members of the Private Investment Team.
  • Provide regular updates to Fund investors regarding the timing of essential deliverables, such as tax reporting and audited annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate with a third-party to manage capital calls, distributions, and cash transfers for each Fund.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support client inquiries and the investment function.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation is a plus.

Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting or auditing experience.
  • Experience with private equity funds is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong expertise in Excel.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct and/or Juniper Square is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking abilities with a knack for collaboration and identifying opportunities for process enhancement.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
