Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Accounts Payable Coordinator to join our team at Friendly Senior Living. As an Accounts Payable Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable, developing and implementing systems and procedures, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of bills.
Responsibilities:- Manage accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Handle accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.
- Analyze workflow processes as it relates to payables and payments of payables.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors.
- Ensure bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to company policies.
- Generate checks and maintain check logs.
- Responsible for Bank Accounts Positive Pay/Fraud monitoring for AP checks.
- Communicate cash balances and assist with cash flow projections.
- Manage credit card payments with directors.
- Prepare journal entries related to credit cards and therapy.
- Complete credit applications as needed.
- Manage record storage of all account payable transactions.
- Manage audit requests timely and completely for both financial and government audits.
- Manage the annual year-end IRS Form 1099 process.
- Make bank deposits and trips to the post office.
- Manage TFH and Member's Fund petty cash box.
- Manage monthly closing of related financial records and ensure the accuracy of A/P through reconciliation and recommended accruals.
- Manage checks that are outstanding over 90 days.
- Prepare analysis and reconciliations of various accounts as required.
- Participate in in-service education and safety programs; may attend meetings or workshops to improve job skills.
- Open and distribute mail.
- High school diploma; post high school courses and/or experience in bookkeeping and general office procedures desirable.
- 2-3 years of AP experience preferred.
- Microsoft office, Great Plans Accounting Software preferred.
