Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Distribution Systems Operator to join our team at PNM Resources. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating and controlling our distribution assets on a minute-by-minute basis, ensuring a safe, reliable, and economic supply of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the controlling authority for operating Company distribution systems
  • Respond to distribution disturbances within established areas and standards
  • Document and communicate all system situations that could impact reliability and safety
  • Develop and maintain an intimate working knowledge of Company distribution systems and guidelines
  • Coordinate distribution system outage restoration and perform special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED with five to seven years of experience in the electric power industry
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of database, spreadsheet, and word processing software
  • Ability to work in a secure area control room environment
