Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a BC/BE cardiologist to join a dynamic academic program. The successful candidate will have opportunities to create a unique clinical practice and engage in teaching and clinical research at a world-class university.

UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories offering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, structural heart disease procedures, and investigational device research.

The position will entail a presence at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics locations in Madison and at our partner community-based hospital, Unity Point Health - Meriter.


Responsibilities:

Position responsibilities for patient care at UW Health locations include inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call, outpatient cardiovascular services, diagnostic cardiovascular testing, and clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows.

Responsibilities will also include providing clinical teaching and time spent on clinical research activities and academic service.

Education:

Required: Terminal Degree, MD, DO, or Equivalent.


Qualifications:

Skills and prior experience in preventive cardiology desired. The candidate will be BC/BE in cardiology, have training in nuclear cardiology or echocardiography, a strong clinical background in preventive cardiology and clinical cardiology, and demonstrated excellence in patient care and teaching.

Must be eligible for a WI Medical License.


Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 75% - 100%.


Appointment Type, Duration:

Ongoing/Renewable.


Salary:

Negotiable, ANNUAL (12 months).


Additional Information:

The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.

The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
