Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Clinical Unit Supervisor for our Medical Surgical and Telemetry nursing care unit. As a Clinical Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care, while also managing the unit's operations and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and direct the delivery of patient care, ensuring that it is safe, effective, and efficient.
  • Assign and delegate tasks to staff members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement unit-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to staff members on new procedures, policies, and technologies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection and analysis, to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Act as a liaison between the unit and other departments, such as pharmacy, laboratory, and radiology, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
  • Develop and maintain a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, respect, and open communication among staff members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing, with a minimum of one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
  • Current California Nursing license
  • Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Basic EKG Competence
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record preferred
