Job Summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fill the role of Clinical Unit Supervisor for our Medical Surgical and Telemetry units. As a Clinical Unit Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leading a team of nurses to deliver high-quality, individualized care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of nurses to provide high-quality patient care and achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement effective nursing care plans and strategies to improve patient satisfaction and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and effective communication.
  • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient needs and ensure timely interventions.
  • Monitor and manage unit resources, including staffing, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of unit-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on new policies, procedures, and technologies.
  • Assist with the recruitment and selection of nursing staff and participate in performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing (individuals hired without a BSN will be required to complete a degree program within 5 years of their hire date).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in Medical/Surgical/Telemetry nursing with regard to regulatory guidelines and standard of practice.
  • Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Unit Supervisor experience.
  • Current California Nursing license.
  • Certification in Medical/Surgical Nursing preferred.
  • Basic EKG Competence.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record.
