Position Summary:
The Extrusion Line Operator is a skilled position responsible for the setup and operation of extrusion machinery, including nylon extruders and related equipment. This role typically involves working in pairs to ensure efficient production processes.

Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in English; bilingual skills in Spanish are advantageous
- Ability to stand and lift heavy items for extended periods
- Competence in reading and understanding production orders and complex machinery instrumentation
- Capacity to lift up to 45 lbs
- Basic arithmetic skills for operational tasks
- Sound judgment in managing extrusion line operations

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues through effective communication
- Manage scrap materials appropriately
- Ensure proper setup of extrusion lines with the correct specifications
- Maintain wire size, insulation thickness, and concentricity standards
- Apply quality prints on cables as per guidelines
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace
- Utilize the correct materials and minimize waste during production changes
- Conduct daily inventory checks of work-in-progress tags

Cross-Training:
- Participate in cross-training on various equipment within the designated workgroup
- Fill in for absent team members as needed
- Rotate tasks regularly to enhance skill proficiency

Quality Assurance:
- Follow the ISO Quality System documentation for daily quality assurance activities
- Do not release products until all quality checks are completed
- Report any quality concerns to the supervisor or quality manager immediately

Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations as a condition of employment
- Follow environmental procedures to minimize impact
- Be aware of the operational environment, including heat and noise levels
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Conduct pre-operation safety inspections and hazard analyses

Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Engage in various physical activities such as lifting, climbing, and standing
- Work in varying temperature conditions typical of a manufacturing setting
- Be prepared for exposure to water, heat, dust, and fumes during operations
