Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to become a vital part of our Estates and Trusts division.

The Senior Associate in Estates and Trusts will play a crucial role in supporting clients with their internal financial management and addressing their estate, gift, and trust requirements through a range of advanced accounting and tax tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare complex trust and estate income tax filings
  • Prepare intricate gift tax submissions
  • Prepare detailed estate tax returns
  • Conduct and evaluate trust accounting
  • Review trust and estate income tax filings
  • Review gift tax submissions
  • Review estate tax returns
  • Assist in the formulation of estate plans
  • Investigate technical tax issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in estate and trust matters
  • Experience in tax preparation and review, particularly with gift, estate, and trust income tax
  • Proficient in various accounting software and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of the Internal Revenue Code, tax regulations, and processes
  • Ability to creatively address challenges and analyze client information
  • Prior experience in estate and trust operations
  • Prior experience in tax preparation
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as ProSystemsFx Tax, CaseWare, XCM, Maconomy, Quickbooks, and T-Value
  • Familiarity with estate and trust software like EstateVal and Estate Planning Tools
