Key Responsibilities- Customs Clearance Operations: Supervise and coordinate customs clearance activities, ensuring compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.
- Departmental Oversight: Oversee daily operations of the department, ensuring profitability and compliance with company policies, ISO guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service through timely and accurate processing and compliance with government regulations and/or company policies.
- Team Management: Supervise and train a team of customs clearance specialists, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and ensure the team is compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in airfreight globally, with a strong background in customs clearance operations.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of export administration, department of commerce, and consularization regulations; ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Certifications: Professional certifications may be required, such as IATA, NATA, or CTPAT.
