The Member Representative II is responsible for performing a broad variety of teller and member service duties, including opening and closing accounts, assisting members with bookkeeping and digital services issues. This position listens to members' needs and offers smart financial solutions via credit union products and services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and cross-sell appropriate deposit, loan, and digital products by assessing members' financial needs and offering suitable products.
  • Knowledgeable of products and services, with the ability to problem-solve and provide thoughtful solutions to members' financial and digital needs.
  • Take consumer loan applications, process loans, prepare loan documents, and close loans.
  • Assist team members with loan closings and member inquiries.
  • Perform account maintenance and account changes.
  • Perform teller transactions.
  • Open, close, and maintain IRA/HSA accounts.
  • Meet individual and credit union goals on a consistent basis, following established Values-Based service goals.
  • Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved, with follow-up as needed.
  • Maintain and project the Credit Union's professional reputation, maintaining the privacy of member account information.
  • Keep up to date on credit union regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Keep the supervisor informed of area activities and significant problems.
  • Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Actively and professionally cross-sell Credit Union services.
  • Perform related clerical duties accurately.
  • Ensure that the work area is clean and well-maintained, with the desk area secure in accordance with the Clean Desk Policy.
  • Attend meetings and training as required.
Performance Measurements:
  • Member services functions are efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures.
  • Good business relations exist with members, with member problems or questions being courteously and promptly resolved.
  • Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and Management, with appropriate assistance provided to area staff as needed.
  • Required reports and records are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Work with the team to ensure production goals are met.
  • The Credit Union's professional reputation is maintained and conveyed.
  • Members' problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Thorough knowledge of member services and products provided.
  • Basic understanding of credit union philosophy and operations.
  • Excellent communication and member service skills.
  • Ability to operate related computer software.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Solid math and bookkeeping abilities.
Education and Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent level of experience.
  • One to three years of experience at a full-service financial institution.
Physical Requirements:
  • Finger Dexterity: Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
  • Talking: Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing: Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Repetitive Motion: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Vision: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, products, or operate machinery.
  • Physical: Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
