Position Overview:
The Lead Medical Assistant will execute clinical and administrative responsibilities under the direction of the administrator, supporting the team, other leads, and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise medical assistants in their tasks and ensure completion of competencies and proficiencies.
- Prepare staff schedules, approve timesheets, and manage time-off requests.
- Generate monthly stent reports and assess stent status.
- Oversee and maintain all medical equipment.
- Order office and medical supplies through inventory management.
- Utilize problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills when interacting with patients.
- Communicate with pharmaceutical representatives.
- Manage CPR certification renewals.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations and inspections.
- Develop monthly calendars for providers.
- Assign tasks to medical assistants and ensure completion.
- Conduct monthly back-office inspections and verify equipment functionality.
- Assist team members and leads as needed.
- Create workflows, policies, and procedures to enhance staff efficiency.
- Deliver excellent customer service and ensure staff adherence to high standards.
- Facilitate training sessions and in-services for staff.
- Hold monthly meetings with staff to discuss issues and concerns.
- Oversee the tasks, schedules, and communications of all medical assistants and providers.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program or two years of experience in a medical clinic is necessary; urology experience is advantageous.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with certification is required (specific to certain locations).
- A minimum of two years of leadership experience is required; supervisory experience is preferred.
- Urology experience is a plus.
- Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.

As part of the role, travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic area may be necessary.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Exceptional customer service abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
- Proficient in patient triage, phlebotomy, administering injections, obtaining vital signs, and processing specimens.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer software and database management.
- Comfortable with phone communication and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to ask probing questions with compassion.
- Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Strong multitasking and proactive problem-solving skills.
- High level of professionalism.
- Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to listen, sit, stand, bend, stoop, and walk throughout the day.
- Frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must be in good physical condition to assist patients as needed.
