Position Overview:
The Department of Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Geomorphology. This role focuses on the investigation of processes that shape terrestrial and extraterrestrial surfaces.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:
1. Conduct innovative research that integrates field studies, theoretical frameworks, and modeling approaches.
2. Explore various aspects of geomorphology, including but not limited to:
   a. Fluvial processes
   b. Hillslope dynamics
   c. Watershed evolution
3. Develop a robust, externally funded research program that addresses significant scientific questions on a global scale.
4. Teach courses within the core Earth sciences curriculum at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
5. Foster collaboration with faculty across various disciplines and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline by the time of appointment. A strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and teaching is essential.

Departmental Environment:
The Department of Earth and Space Sciences is a vibrant community of 25 faculty members, 90 graduate students, and 200 undergraduate majors.
