Position Overview

Salary: $22 - $26 LADC, $26 - $30 LMHP

The Bridge Behavioral Health is seeking a Withdrawal Counselor/Therapist (LADC/LMHP) to join our team. In this role, you will provide expert counseling and therapeutic services aimed at the treatment and rehabilitation of clients dealing with substance use and mental health challenges.

As a Withdrawal Counselor/Therapist at The Bridge, you will play a crucial role in the recovery process, serving as a supportive guide during the initial stages of change. Collaborating with a diverse interdisciplinary team, including Recovery Advocates, Counselors/Therapists, and Nurses, you will deliver a holistic and tailored approach to client care. Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a welcoming, trauma-informed, and secure environment for all clients.
  • Engage in the 12 Core Functions, including screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling/therapy, case management, crisis intervention, client education, documentation, and professional consultation.
  • Conduct thorough substance use evaluations using standardized assessment tools to identify client needs.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups as required.
  • Lead counseling/therapy sessions with clients undergoing withdrawal.
  • Develop and update individualized treatment plans, documenting client preferences throughout their stay.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of counseling/therapy progress notes and discharge summaries.
  • Coordinate clinical case management, ensuring effective communication with probation, parole, diversion officers, case workers, therapists/counselors, family members, and other relevant parties to align with clients' treatment goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and assess client stability following crisis events.
  • Ensure timely documentation in the agency's electronic health record system.
  • Prepare and maintain all necessary treatment records and reports to comply with accreditation and payer regulations.
  • Make appropriate referrals for client treatment based on assessed needs.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings and document staffing decisions to implement suitable treatment plans.
  • Engage in monthly team meetings and quarterly staff training sessions as directed.
  • Attend regular supervision meetings with the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Complete all required online training courses in compliance with state and accrediting organizations.
  • Participate in training and credentialing activities through relevant state departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP/PLMHP) or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC/PLADC).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in one-on-one client interactions, including case management, counseling, and therapy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with substance use histories.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team framework while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficiency in utilizing 12-step programming and various treatment modalities.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with a creative approach.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in electronic and web-based platforms, including Microsoft Office.
