Job Title: Optical Telecommunications Product Tester

At VetJobs, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Optical Telecommunications Product Tester.

Job Summary:

As an Optical Telecommunications Product Tester, you will be responsible for performing verification, qualification, and reliability testing of optical telecommunications products in a laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in setting up and performing fiber optic testing systems
  • Configure product samples for environmental and mechanical testing
  • Perform optical measurements using manual or automated test systems
  • Program and operate environmental chambers and test equipment
  • Document test results from optical fiber component testing
  • Conduct basic data analysis and draft test reports
  • Assist in conducting failure mode analysis and basic troubleshooting
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
Requirements:
  • Technical associate degree or university technical courses
  • Previous experience in electronics and/or fiber optics is a plus
  • Experience in a metrology laboratory environment is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to complete assignments accurately and at a pre-defined schedule
  • Detail-oriented and strong interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on technical skills using test and measuring equipment

  • Basic understanding of optical test equipment
  • Basic understanding of fiber optic theory and hardware
  • Highly motivated and self-starter
  • Willingness to learn and adapt
Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $44,563.00 to $60,563.00 per year, assuming full-time status. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
