Job Title:

Clinical Faculty Position

Job Summary:

The UNC Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time clinical faculty member to join the Substance Treatment and Recovery (STAR) program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and group therapy in the outpatient and inpatient setting to patients of all ages. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to overall program development, supervise clinical practicum students, and participate in outreach activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide diagnostic evaluations, individual therapy, and group therapy in the outpatient and inpatient setting
  • Contribute to overall program development across levels of care
  • Supervise clinical practicum students, pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, and psychiatry residents
  • Teach medical students, residents, and other allied health professionals
  • Conduct professional training seminars and program evaluation
  • Participate in outreach activities, community presentations, and national/international conferences
Requirements:
  • Completion of an APA-accredited PhD/PsyD in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or related doctoral program
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship
  • Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of North Carolina
  • Demonstrate strong evidence of interest and previous clinical training in substance use disorders
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in substance use disorders and training in evidence-based interventions
  • Prior experience in academic medical settings and/or in a high-performing clinical team
  • Training and experience with multidisciplinary team-based treatment approaches
  • Experience with treatment in various levels of care
