Key Responsibilities

The role involves collaborating closely with the Head Start Teacher to deliver enriching Head Start experiences that align with the Head Start Performance Standards. The aim is to empower parents as integral partners in a holistic approach to child development and self-sufficiency.

Primary Duties Include:
  • Preparing and cleaning up food items.
  • Delivering meals as necessary.
  • Maintaining accurate records.
  • Assisting in the organization of classroom health and nutrition activities.
  • Performing daily janitorial tasks.
  • Participating in designated training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Acting as a temporary substitute in the absence of the Assistant Teacher.
  • Adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Exemplifying and supporting the organization's Behavioral Competencies.
  • Assisting with transportation tasks as required.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or a willingness to obtain certification.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Ability to implement problem-solving and conflict-resolution techniques.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to travel within a nine-county area.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Consistent and dependable attendance.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Completion of medical examinations and health screenings as mandated by Head Start regulations.
