Job Title: Head Start Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Head Start Teacher to join our team at United Community Action Partnership, Inc. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing a comprehensive Head Start experience that meets the requirements of the Head Start Performance Standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and conduct center classroom days that provide a comprehensive Head Start experience.
  • Assure children's individual needs and differences are met through tailored learning experiences.
  • Implement learning experiences that advance the intellectual, emotional, and physical development of children.
  • Complete child assessments with fidelity and use data to inform program planning and individualization.
  • Encourage family engagement in the program and support the transition of Head Start children to the next educational facility.
  • Supervise classroom staff and coordinate services for children with disabilities.
  • Facilitate the integration of nutrition and health activities into the classroom.
  • Support and model United's Behavioral Competencies.

Requirements:

  • AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field as defined by the Office of Head Start.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Computer/keyboarding skills required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and provide team leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding of child development and issues faced by low-income people.
  • Reliable mode of transportation and reliable, regular attendance.
